The Brewster County Central Appraisal District appraises property for seven jurisdictions, those jurisdictions are Brewster County, Big Bend Regional Hospital District, The City of Alpine, Alpine ISD, Marathon ISD, San Vicente ISD, and Terlingua CSD.
Currently there are 4 full time staff appraisers/data entry clerks, 1 part time data entry clerk, and the Chief Appraiser. Our office is located at 107 W. Ave E in Alpine, TX (to some its known as 'the old post office', but please do not try to send mail from our office!). It is our job to ensure that property is being appraised at its fair market value, which in a rapidly increasing market can be a difficult task.
